Assistant Head Teacher

We are looking to appoint an ambitious, inspirational and talented leader to become an assistant head teacher at our school!

Due to promotion to Vice Principal, St Columba’s Catholic Primary School is looking to appoint an ambitious, inspirational and talented leader to become an assistant head teacher at our school with a teaching responsibility in Key Stage Two. This is a key leadership position that will play a significant part in helping the school on its journey from good to outstanding. The role is class based.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a secure understanding of the distinctive nature of the Catholic school and Catholic education.

  • Has an understanding of leadership in spiritual development of pupils and staff.

  • Has an understanding of the school’s wider role in the parish and wider community.

• is an experienced school leader and teacher with a proven track record in raising standards and engaging all pupils in their learning.

• has the ability to contribute to developing all teaching to ensure that it is appropriately pitched as a result of accurate assessment.

• can work effectively within the leadership team and beyond to act strategically on the priorities identified through self-evaluation to make an impact on progress.

• is an experienced, innovative and inspirational leader who demonstrates enthusiasm and is an effective team player.

• can deal effectively with pupils and parents who have an issue and resolve any conflict fairly.
