Homework Information

Each week, I will upload homework here for your child. This will usually include both English and Maths activities, along with a Reading Comprehension task every other week.

Answer sheets will be provided, and I encourage children to check and mark their own work once they have finished. This helps them to identify what they have understood well and where they may need a little more practice. Children are welcome to bring their completed homework into school to show me and receive a sticker for their effort.

Homework is optional, but I strongly encourage children to take part whenever they can, as it provides valuable opportunities to practise and reinforce their learning at home. However, regular reading at home and learning weekly spellings are essential and will be expected throughout the year, as these make a significant difference to children's progress and confidence.

The homework activities are carefully linked to the Year 1 curriculum and are planned across the year to revisit key skills and knowledge. This gives children the chance to refresh their understanding of topics they may have studied earlier in the year or towards the end of Reception.

Thank you for your continued support with your child's learning. Working together helps to give them the very best opportunities to succeed.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to Miss Hill. I am always happy to help.

Kind regards,

Miss Hill
