St Columba’s is a Catholic school with Christ’s teachings of love, peace and justice at the heart of all we do

Messages from Miss Healy and Miss Clarke

Dear Year 2 Families,

As we come to the end of this term, I want to say a huge thank you for all your support. It has been a wonderful term of learning, and I am so proud of the children for their hard work and enthusiasm.

Here’s a little summary of what we’ve been learning:

  • RE: We explored Old Testament stories, Jesus’ parables and miracles, and reflected on Advent as we prepare for Christmas.
  • English: We wrote our own narratives inspired by Troll Swap and created non-chronological reports based on The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark.
  • Maths: We explored place value, practised addition and subtraction, and learned about shapes.
  • Geography: We studied our local area, Longbridge.
  • History: We discovered the fascinating world of the Romans.
  • Music: We listened to and learned about Mozart.
  • Science: We investigated living things and the human body.
  • Art: We experimented with colour and shape.
  • DT: We enjoyed learning about food groups and the ingredients for our pizzas.
  •

Thank you again for being such a supportive part of our learning journey. I wish you all a joyful Christmas and a happy New Year. I look forward to seeing everyone in January for another exciting term!
